Coming from different countries and continents, we have been living in our beloved Munich for a few months or even several years. We are tirelessly trying to speak the language and integrate into our new environment. Many of us have left behind our families and friends in search of a peaceful place and a better future — far from war, misery, and sorrow. Even though we arrived here with nothing, there is something that has always been with us and will always remain: our culture. Even as we adapt to a new life, we cannot simply forget the ways of living we left behind — the sounds, the tastes, and the images. These will stay with us forever.
Being able to share this part of ourselves and our countries is truly an exciting project and holds deep meaning for us — no matter where we come from. That’s why we are grateful for the opportunity to bring our people, countries, and cultures closer to you through these films. We are especially happy that you’ve taken the time to watch our films and, through them, learn more about us. We hope these films offer you a deeper understanding of the cultures, people, and places you will encounter — whether you already know these countries or are discovering them for the first time.
Thank you for being here, and we wish you a wonderful time. Yours truly,
The KINO ASYL Team
