My whole life has been a journey. Now I am here in Germany, and through the KINO ASYL Festival I can tell my story — a story about me and my journey. I look forward to seeing and welcoming you at the festival.

Elena Arminia

Kurator:in

Hi, I’m Elena Arminia. I come from Iran and I’m a filmmaker, writer, costume designer, and also a model. I’ve been a member of KINO ASYL for three years. Two of my own films have already been shown at the festival.

Matin

Kurator:in

My name is Matin. I am a filmmaker and this year, once again, I am presenting one of my own works at KINO ASYL.

Ali Khorosh

Kurator:in

I’m Ali Khorosh Fazli Bayat. I come from Afghanistan and now live with my family in Zolling near Munich. When I was 18, I joined a large theater group called “Asad Theater.” After finishing art high school, I graduated from university as a film director. During that time, I shot three short films as part of the department’s final project. I have experience with camera work, editing, and acting. I really enjoy watching new films online in spaces that feel like a cinema. After university, in 2014, we produced a full-length action film in a small team called *Black Mission*. I was the assistant director for that film and also had a small acting role. In 2018, I shot a music video in Munich. Right now, I am learning the German language and hope to always stay close to my family. I have been part of the KinoAsyl team since 2017.
