Aref Mohebi tells the story of an old man who mourns the death of his wife in his own unique way. Using the simplest cinematic means, he paints an authentic picture of rural life in Afghanistan.

As an Afghan refugee, I came to Germany about 15 months ago. My profession as a film director explains my particular interest in the topic of film. Through recommendations from acquaintances, I found my way to KINO ASYL. I really enjoy working with people from different countries, especially because it allows me to get to know entirely new cultures and perspectives. It was also very helpful for me to be able to discuss my short film with knowledgeable friends within the KINO ASYL circle. With my film, I want to express that love never grows old and that, as the younger generation, we should not forget that one day we too will belong to the "elders."
