“Dounia and the Princess of Aleppo” tells the story of six-year-old Dounia, who loves her hometown of Aleppo despite suffering severe blows of fate. When war breaks out and her father disappears, she is forced to flee with her grandparents. Accompanied by a mysterious magical power, she embarks on a dangerous journey in the hope of finding a new home. With plenty of imagination, magic, and a childlike perspective, the film touchingly shows how Dounia maintains hope and confidence even in dark times.
Why this movie?
I particularly enjoy working with children because it fulfills me to see the sparkle in their eyes and put a smile on their faces. That’s why I’m doing the children’s program for KINOASYL this year.

After coming to Germany, I initially gave up this dream. But my passion for theater never left me. After a long search, I finally found a theater school where I could further develop my talents. There, I learned about music and art and understood the basic principles of performing arts. I'm a very communicative person and enjoy interacting with others. After graduating from school, I worked in nursing—a profession where you meet many different people and gain valuable experience. I also continue to make music and enjoy participating in theater plays.
