Queen of Katwe

The movie is about a young girl in the slums of Katwe in Uganda. Her family is really poor, but she has a talent for playing chess. She doesn’t fulfill her dream because her mother doesn’t want her to. Then someone discovers her talent and she gets to play chess and help her family with the money.

The girl in the story existed in real life and she died, so I chose the movie as a tribute to the girl. The movie teaches viewers not to give up on their dreams and to believe in themselves. It also proves that just because someone is poor doesn’t mean they are not talented. The movie shows that sometimes you need someone to show you that you don’t have to be scared of showing your talent.
