Hi, my name is Imraan and I’m a new member of KINO ASYL. I was born and raised in Afghanistan. I’m 18 years old and came to Germany about two years ago. I currently live in Munich. Watching films, reading books, studying mathematics, and enjoying scientific research are my favorite activities. My love for films brought me to KINO ASYL. I think that being part of KINO ASYL is a great opportunity to work with a wonderful team and to share a small part of my culture with the people who live here. Syngué sabour addresses problems that many women in Afghanistan face every day. Buzkashi Boys shows how our young generation thinks and the kind of imagination it has.

Hello, I’m Tawfiq and I’m 17 years old. I was born in Afghanistan and have spent most of my life there so far. I came to Germany 14 months ago and have settled in well. I’m interested in filmmaking, music, culture, and people. I see KINO ASYL as a wonderful opportunity to live out these interests and to present a part of my culture and homeland through films. I want to show Buzkashi Boys because it is a beautiful and also very moving film. I find it fascinating to watch what happens in Syngué sabour (The Patience Stone) when the woman’s husband becomes paralyzed. The film tells the story of the problems women face in Afghanistan.
