When I woke up to the thunder of explosions on the first day of the war, my first thought was, “Aren’t we going to school?” Within minutes, I got my answer as the news of the Russian attack spread across all media. A month later, I arrived in Germany and needed support more than ever before. This film offers a glimpse into exactly that time period and illustrates what people felt back then and how they asked for help. And although we are incredibly grateful to many countries for the shelter and care we received, this call for help, unfortunately, still resonates today.

Hi, I’m Dasha and I come from Ukraine. I’m interested in video-making and have been lucky enough to shoot films for camps, events, and my friends. With my images, I want to capture feelings and interpersonal interactions. I’m fascinated by stories that are close to people’s hearts.
