Ubuntu Kultur – Stories of Belonging

Ubuntu Kultur: Stories of Belonging follows Enock Kizito, a human rights advocate and refugee living in Germany, as he uses storytelling to bring people and cultures together using the Ubuntu Philosophy of love, humanity and togetherness .
What began with the Ubuntu Unfiltered Podcast grows into a wider journey of community, identity and belonging. Through conversations with migrants, refugees, young people, community leaders and public figures, Enock and his team create a space where people can speak openly about their lives in Germany.
At its heart, the film is about different cultures learning to live, share and grow together as one community. It is a story of voices, connection and the belief that when we understand each other’s experiences, we create a stronger sense of belonging.

I am Enock Kizito, 26 years old, human rights activist, storyteller and filmmaker from Uganda and I live in Germany. I am convinced, that every person deserves dignity, freedom and the opportunity to be heard. Through film and storytelling I can give a voice to refugees, migrants and other underrepresented people. Humanity, freedom of expression and mutual understanding are particularly important to me. To me, Kino Asyl means a sense of belonging, connection and the opportunity to tell stories that connect people across different cultures. For me, film is more than just entertainment - it creates dialogue, sparks empathy and can inspire people to see the world through different eyes.
