How can one live normally without war – and how can one live during war? This film is based on a true story. It tells the story of a family that lived through the war in Yemen. The parents try to provide a normal life for their children despite the ongoing conflict. But unfortunately, it’s not that simple.

I’m Yahya, I come from Yemen. I have been in Germany for a little over five years with my family. In my free time, I like to repair bicycles at Bellevue or volunteer for asylum counseling. When I heard about KINO ASYL, I thought I might be able to do something important there. Through my volunteer work, I have already met great friends. Germany has given me many opportunities; my children can go to school, and I want to give something back to Germany as well.
