This music film from Sierra Leone tells the story of two married women. Mammah Saylah suffers greatly as one of them from the fact that she has not yet given birth to a child. The related discrimination she experiences comes both from her husband and, among others, from the son of the other woman. Despite all these circumstances, her precarious situation seems to be about to change soon.

I’m Sheriff and I come from Sierra Leone. I was born in Bo Town, which is located south of Freetown. My interests include sports, cooking, going for walks, and chatting. Why KINO ASYL? I want to show films from my homeland and get to know new people. I chose this film because it inspired me during my childhood. As an only child, you always feel a sense of emptiness in an African household and wish for siblings. In Africa, children are an important status symbol in society. Many women who cannot have children face discrimination.
