“Seek and you shall find”—this thought keeps running through my mind whenever I watch the film by Katia and her team. It’s about young people from Ukraine who stayed in the country and had to adjust to a different definition of “everyday life.” We experience their three personal stories through the screen, and they help us understand the situation in Odesa, Kyiv, and _. The images remind me that the inner light of my generation is filled with hope, solidarity, and empathy. It is precisely this light—which cannot be extinguished even by bombs—that I would like to share with the audience.

Hi! I’m really excited to be spending my third year with Kino Asyl and to continue presenting these films. These days, for various reasons, fewer and fewer voices in the international media are reporting on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. That’s why I appreciate it all the more that there’s a platform like this for our stories. As a young person from a generation born in a free country who now has to fight for that freedom, I’m very grateful for that.
