“I am from eastern Sierra Leone, from the city called Kuido in the area called Kono. I am part of the team showing the movie called “Aminata”. I did the trailer video to share my experience of how we watch movies in my country Sierra Leone. I choose the movie “AMINATA” to share the reality of the sad situation of young girls in Africa. It became the most popular movie in Sierra Leone. I choose to be part of Kino Asyl because of the following reasons; being part of Kino Asyl can help me integrate with the German community. It helps me come in contact with different people from other countries. I am also glad to meet other asylum seekers like me and I think it´s nice to share my own movie with the people living in Germany and have the opportunity to interact with one another. Being part of Kino Asyl is helping me to socialise.”

Aminata
Sierra Leone 2010, 114 Min., Director: Jimmy Bangura virker viagra (OmeU)
This is a film from Sierra Leone that highlights the problems many girls face with early marriage. Aminata was the only daughter of her poor parents but even at her young age she was eager to go to school and get western education. Unfortunately her village could only allow girls to have Islamic education or none at all. The king of her homeland was a polygamous monarch who stops at nothing to get a woman he wants to make his wife. At age 14 Aminata was forced to marry this king beyond her wish. On her refusal, she was raped and tortured by the wicked king who forced his will on her. Even through her ordeals, Aminata never forgot her vision. She planned a way of escape from her life of bondage and ran away to the city where she sought refuge, attended school and landed her dream career.
